Translation and Localization Project Manager

Riga office - on-site / partly remote after trial period

RixTeam is looking for a Translation and Localization Project Manager to join our team in our Riga office. This role is for someone who enjoys keeping projects, clients, linguists, files and deadlines moving in the same direction.

Some days will be smooth. Other days will require pure project management gymnastics. You should be comfortable with both.

What you will do

You will manage translation and localization projects from start to finish:

·       Check project requests and understand what the client actually needs

·       Prepare quotes, timelines and project instructions

·       Assign work to translators, revisers, editors and QA specialists

·       Coordinate files, CAT tools, client portals and workflows

·       Monitor deadlines, budgets and project progress

·       Solve problems before they become bigger problems

·       Check that deliverables are complete, clean and ready to send

What we are looking for

You do not need to know everything from day one, but you must be ready to get up to speed fast. You should be comfortable learning and working with:

·       Source files, target files and delivery packages

·       Word counts, deadlines and client instructions

·       CAT tools, translation memories and QA steps

·       Translators, revisers, editors and multilingual workflows

And you should understand the fine line between “this will get us by” and “this is actually a good fit for the client.”

Must-haves

·       Excellent written and spoken English

·       Strong multitasking skills

·       Attention to detail

·       Calm head under pressure

·       Clear communication with clients and linguists

·       Confidence using MS Office and everyday business tools

Experience with memoQ, Trados Studio, XTRF or similar systems will be considered a strong advantage.

You will fit in well if you

·       Like structure, but can handle controlled chaos

·       Write clear emails without turning them into novels

·       Notice small details others tend to miss

·       Do not disappear when things get complicated

·       Enjoy working with people from different countries and cultures
