It helps organizations communicate effectively with multilingual audiences by offering on-demand and scheduled interpreting services (including over-the-phone, video, and in-person), as well as written translation. Summary
The Translation Project Manager is responsible for managing translation projects from intake through final delivery while supporting the growth and development of the translation department. This role works closely with the Director of Translation to improve workflows, support operational execution, maintain quality standards, and help build scalable translation processes.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership and accountability, adapts quickly to change, and is comfortable building systems and processes from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Translation Project Management
- Manage translation projects from start to finish
- Coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, with high quality
- Communicate proactively with internal teams, vendors, and leadership
- Track project status and resolve issues before they escalate
CAT Tools & Technology Management
- Work confidently within CAT tools and TMS
- Utilize and support workflows using: MemoQ, Plunet, DeepL
- Help improve translation workflows through technology and automation
- Support translation memory maintenance and terminology consistency
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new translation technologies
Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Ensure translation quality standards are consistently maintained
- Review project workflows for efficiency improvements
- Help build scalable operational processes and checklists
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Vendor & Linguist Coordination
- Coordinate with translators, editors, proofreaders, and other language professionals
- Ensure vendors receive clear instructions and deadlines
- Maintain professional and respectful vendor communication
- Support vendor performance tracking and accountability
Department Growth & Team Collaboration
- Work side-by-side with the Director of Translation to help grow the department
- Support new initiatives, workflows, and operational improvements
- Assist in developing scalable systems for future growth
- Be adaptable and open to evolving responsibilities as the department expands
- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality, and client experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Localization, Linguistics, or related field
- Strong experience managing translation/localization projects
- High proficiency with CAT tools and translation management systems
- Experience with: MemoQ, Plunet, DeepL
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
- Experience in healthcare, legal, government, or interpreting/translation industries (a plus)
- Experience helping build or improve operational workflows (a plus)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted translation workflows (a plus)
- Experience working in a growing or scaling company environment (a plus)
