QA Localization Tester - Russian

Activision is currently recruiting for a Localisation QA Tester to test Call of Duty and other Activision Games.

All positions are fixed term, full time hours (35 hours)
Monday to Friday (1000 to 1800) with possibility of overtime
6 Month Contract

Your Platform

Localisation Dublin was established in 2007 and is located 2.3km from Dublin City Centre in East Point Business Park. As a team we handle the Project Management and Quality Assurance of our phenomenal games from English to 14 different languages globally. Our purpose is to ensure that the localised version of a game meets the highest quality standards before being released. At our location you can expect to work with colleagues from across the world.

Your Mission

  • You will occupy a pivotal role in preserving the quality and authenticity of our video game titles tailored for the Russian market.
  • Your expertise in the Russian language and culture is not just a requirement; it is a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering unparalleled gaming experiences.
  • Review language components (e.g. Text & Audio files) before integration.
  • Test each project assigned to identify localisation and functional bugs for our Russian products.
  • Identify and detail defects in a clear and concise manner using the designated bug tracking database.
  • Complete regression/verification testing daily.
  • Provide ad-hoc translations.
  • Other duties assigned as the need arises.

Knowledge & Skills

  • High proficiency in Russian linguistics (native level), an excellent command of the language, including advanced vocabulary and understanding of idiomatic expressions.
  • Good understanding of English, both written and spoken.
  • A deep understanding of Russian culture, including pop culture, gaming trends and societal references.
  • A passion for Russian video games and an uncanny ability to dissect games, both as a player and as a linguistic and cultural connoisseur.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet project deadlines.

Experience

Previous experience in localisation testing or quality assurance within the video game or translation industry is highly preferred, and your familiarity with localisation tools and software will be considered a significant asset – but not required as you will get full training.
