Learn more at tandemdiabetes.coma Day In The LifeThe Localization Project Manager leads global translation and localization projects that support product development and commercialization activities for Tandem Diabetes, specifically focused on complex, multilingual initiatives for software/UI and digital content, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery for global markets. The Project Manager also oversees end to end translation operations between external language service providers (LSPs) and the internal Translation Management System (TMS). This position plays a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, enabling timely global releases, and ensuring consistent, high-quality localized content across all regions.What You’ll DoThe Project Manager - Translations & Localization will also be responsible for; Project & Translation Leadership

  • Manages the full lifecycle of translation projects, from intake through final delivery, across all required languages.
  • Serves as the primary liaison among internal teams, external vendors and TMS platform team.
  • Creates, schedules, and monitors translation jobs within the TMS, ensuring accurate workflow routing and version control.
  • Tracks timelines, deliverables, and risks; escalate issues as needed to meet release schedules.
  • Aligns translation deliverables with product development, regulatory and commercialization milestones.
  • Facilitates cross-functional reviews, approvals and issue resolution to maintain compliance and momentum.

Process Optimization & Systems Management

  • Maintains and contributes to the optimization of the Translation Management System, including workflows, automation and user access.
  • Supports implementation of new tools, system enhancements and integrations (e.g., CMS, PLM).
  • Identifies potential process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cycle time and mitigate risk.
  • Contributes to documentation of workflows, SOPs, and work instructions in line with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

Vendor & Execution Management

  • Initiates translation requests and manages vendor quotes to oversee execution by approved LSPs.
  • Monitors vendor performance, quality, timelines and deliverables to help drive continuous improvement.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensures translated content meets corporate quality standards and complies with QMS procedures, regulatory requirements and regional regulations.
  • Reviews deliverables for completeness, consistency and accuracy.
  • Supports documentation activities such as verification, approvals and certificates of translation.
  • Maintains working knowledge of engineering design, medical device standards and localization processes.

Digital & Marketing Support

  • Partners with Marketing and Digital teams to coordinate translation requests, glossary adherence, in‑country reviews and asset deployment.
  • Collaborates with Digital teams to ensure accurate upload and publishing of localized content.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing translation or localization programs, ideally in medical devices, life sciences, or other regulated industries and/or managing mobile software localizations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and influence across teams.
  • Strong communication skills for managing scope, resources and stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficiency with project management tools for planning, scheduling and collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in a language other than English, strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Translation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Experience with tools such as Smartsheet, Confluence, Oracle Cloud PLM, Jira.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office platform.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Ability to assess issues and determine escalation paths.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum methodology (preferred).
  • Understanding of software engineering principles (preferred).

WHERE AND WHEN YOU WILL WORK;Remote: This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually.Compensation & BenefitsThe starting base pay range for this position is $83,000 - $100,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You’ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
