Manager Translation

A leading organization in Qatar is seeking an experienced Head of Translation to lead its Translation function and drive the delivery of high-quality Arabic and English language services across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned translation professional with strong leadership capabilities, exceptional linguistic expertise, and the ability to manage a high-performing team in a dynamic corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Translation Department, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of translation services.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of translators and language specialists.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance standards and translation best practices.
  • Review and approve complex translations for accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.
  • Coordinate translation priorities across multiple business units and stakeholders.
  • Develop departmental processes, workflows, and performance metrics to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality when handling sensitive corporate documents.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of translation technologies and terminology management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Arabic, English, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of professional translation experience, including several years in a managerial or team leadership role.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written communication skills.
  • Proven experience leading and developing translation teams.
  • Strong organizational, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
  • Experience within the banking, legal, government, or large corporate sector will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools is desirable.
