About the Role

The Localization team is seeking an experienced Localization Quality Project Manager to help tackle Uber’s growing needs - across our Localization, Testing and Transcription Quality Operations.

In this role, you'll work closely with our Localization Quality Program Managers (LXgMs) to ensure on-time & high linguistic quality in all project deliveries. You'll work with internal linguists & outside vendors to manage day-to-day quality operations across several languages and services, including localization, transcription and testing.

Besides supporting the Localization Quality Program Management team, this role also serves as a global point of contact for Uber’s rapidly growing Marketplace community of Language Specialists, who are doing translation / localization or other multilingual tasks (i.e. multilingual LLM Evaluation, transcription), delivering high-quality content in a fast paced environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support day to day Quality Management Operations across a variety of programs and services at Uber or for other clients, based on business needs.
  • Support establishing and executing Quality processes, documentations, onboardings, and training with Translators, Transcribers, Reviewers, and Auditors.
  • Coordinate seamless project handoffs and proactively drive projects through to successful completion, ensuring all deliverables meet scope, timeline, and quality expectations.
  • Resource management support of Localization IC talent community network, which may include:
  • Reviewing, qualifying and screening resources for internal demand and requirements
  • Sourcing for new languages when / as needed, based on Uber’s business requirements
  • Working cross-functionally with Uber teams from S&P (Strategy & Planning), Contingency Workforce Management and Uber Localization Experience (Quality Management) teams to support day-to-day needs
  • Help keep our relevant Quality Operations training documentations up to date
  • Manage quality performance of in-house resource pool of translators and transcribers
  • Support managing and triaging inbound Quality issues and bugs
  • Understand Uber and Uber AI Solutions’s quality requirements across various services and programs

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum 2-3 years of general localization industry experience, preferably in the tech industry - multilingual domain knowledge is a requirement
  • Understanding of Project Management / Program Management
  • Experience with recruiting and sourcing freelancer talents is helpful
  • Able to take direction as well as to work independently with multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of best practices for professional translation, localization and transcription services
  • Passionate about Uber and our mission
  • Ability to manage operations at scale, and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Creative community engagement skills, to motivate and maintain the best freelancer talents
  • High standards for multilingual content quality, helping us to ensure quality standards are met
