About the Role
As a Localization Project Manager, you will oversee end‑to‑end localization projects across multiple languages, domains, and content types. You will work closely with clients, linguists, engineers, and internal teams to ensure high‑quality deliveries, smooth workflows, and continuous improvement.
This role requires a senior mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to anticipate risks before they impact timelines or quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full localization project cycles: scoping, planning, resourcing, production, QA, delivery, and post‑mortem.
- Coordinate internal and external linguists, reviewers, and subject‑matter experts.
- Ensure compliance with client style guides, terminology, workflows, and quality expectations.
- Prepare project assets: glossaries, reference packs, instructions, CAT tool setups, QA rules.
- Monitor timelines, budgets, risks, and workload distribution.
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding progress, issues, and solutions.
- Perform quality checks (linguistic, functional, formatting) before delivery.
- Maintain and update translation memories, termbases, and project documentation.
- Optimize workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support onboarding of new clients or new content types when needed.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in localization project management within an agency or enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of localization workflows, CAT tools (Trados, memoQ, XTM, Smartling, etc.), QA tools, and terminology management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and client‑facing experience.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to anticipate risks and propose actionable solutions.
- Experience with multilingual teams and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with marketing, UX/UI, legal, technical, or regulated content.
- Familiarity with MTPE workflows and quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of internationalization concepts and file formats (XML, JSON, HTML, etc.).
- Experience working with global brands or high‑volume accounts.
