Localization Project Manager - Contractor

AllTrails is seeking a contract Project Manager to support the tactical execution of the localization program. This contract position focuses on executing time-bound localization projects and supporting project-based marketing initiatives related to the Netherlands.

This contract role is ideal for someone highly organized, comfortable managing and improving workflows, and able to research and support marketing initiatives in the Dutch outdoor ecosystem.

This role is a U.S. based remote contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Execute time-bound localization projects, contributing to day-to-day coordination across Product, Marketing, and Engineering.
  • Identify and flag opportunities for localization workflow, process or tooling improvement/efficiency.
  • Review, prioritize, and track Quality Assurance issues affecting localized content quality, relevance, and functionality
  • Support cross-functional stakeholders to ensure localization requirements are implemented effectively
  • Partner with Marketing and Engineering teams to follow localizability best practices that minimize downstream issues and reduce time-to-market
  • Support and contribute to driving culturally relevant, project-based initiatives aimed at establishing AllTrails’ presence in the Netherlands
  • Research and identify potential marketing partnerships with outdoor organizations, tourism groups, and regional stakeholders in the Netherlands
  • Track and help organize partnership opportunities, outreach efforts, and key market insights
  • Help identify and support recruitment of brand ambassadors within the Dutch outdoor community
  • Conduct landscape research on outdoor recreation trends and opportunities in the Netherlands
  • Serve as an internal linguistic, cultural, and market intelligence resource: flagging what resonates, what doesn't, and what competitors or adjacent brands are doing in the Dutch market

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in localization project management or a related operational role
  • Familiarity with localization management systems, translation/CAT tools, or content management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Native fluency in Dutch and deep knowledge of Dutch culture and market trends
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Ability to work within US time zones
  • Authorized to work in the United States (if based in the US)
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Understanding of localization beyond execution, with an appreciation for its role in driving culturally relevant user experiences and market growth
  • Interest in outdoor recreation, travel, or regional community ecosystems
  • Willingness to occasionally travel throughout the US or internationally for industry events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting regional marketing initiatives or partnership outreach
  • Familiarity with the outdoor recreation landscape in the Netherlands and experience interacting with Dutch regional stakeholders (e.g., parks, tourism boards, or outdoor organizations)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, or Engineering teams

Schedule & Duration

  • Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
  • 6 month contract with option to renew

$50 - $50 an hour
