POSITION STATUS: Permanent – Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Brand Communication

LOCATION: Montreal

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

The French translator will be responsible for creating translation that aligns with Air Canada Vacations’ brand voice and company values at every touch point. They also revise marketing, promotional, UX and editorial copy for various departments across the company, including Marketing, Ecommerce, and more:

  • Translate hotel content and promotional campaigns; brainstorm with the translation team and collaborate with Marketing to arrive at messaging that maintains the brand’s tone
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization: gather context and requirements, attend project meetings and ensure stakeholders’ goals are met Translate various communication tools such as brochures, product descriptions, inserts, flyers, print advertisements, newsletters and press releases
  • Review marketing material, including material featuring the Air Canada Vacations brand produced by third parties
  • Prioritize requests and translate documents from English to French and, on occasion, from French to English
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of translations as well as their compliance with Quebec's language laws
  • Ensure that the content reflects the brand image

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Efficient and very detail-oriented demonstrating initiative, flexibility and great accuracy
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, multi-task and work under pressure
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Antidote
  • Knowledge of Trados Team, an asset
  • Strong team player
  • University degree in translation
  • Perfect command of English and French (written and oral)
  • Between 3 to 5 years of experience as a translator
  • Strong organizational skills

Linguistic Requirements

When qualifications are equal, preference will be given to bilingual candidates. The position involves daily interactions with partners, clients, and colleagues located outside of Quebec.
