Role Description

This is a remote, contract role for a Freelance Translator/QC (Korean to English) at CJ OliveNetworks. The role involves translating a variety of content from Korean into clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate English, in accordance with established style guides and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and performing quality checks on translated materials, correcting linguistic, stylistic, and formatting issues, and ensuring consistency across projects. The translator/QC will collaborate with internal teams and other vendors as needed, manage assigned projects within agreed timelines, and maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all client materials.

Qualifications

• Strong Korean-to-English translation skills, with the ability to convey nuance, tone, and intent accurately.
• Proficiency in linguistic quality control, including reviewing, editing, and proofreading translated content.
• Experience working with translation or localization tools, terminology management, and style guides.
• Excellent written communication skills in English and strong reading comprehension in Korean.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with digital content, IT or media-related materials, or similar domains is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Korean/English Language, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Previous experience as a freelance translator or QC reviewer, especially in Korean-to-English, is required.
