Key Responsibilities:
- Translate, edit, and revise letters, reports, documents, texts, news articles, studies, and presentations from English to Arabic and vice versa.
- Edit correspondence and letters, review, and improve the wording of texts written in Arabic to ensure clarity and correctness.
- Accompany the Head of Mission and diplomats to attend meetings and conferences, providing interpretation services during their meetings and interviews with relevant stakeholders in the host country.
- Audit translated documents, review and compare them with the original texts to ensure accuracy and conformity with standards and terminology adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and international organizations.
- Develop and maintain a specialized dictionary encompassing all terms related to the Mission to serve as a reference for staff.
- Collaborate with scientific references and experts to validate terminology, ensuring that translated texts are linguistically, culturally, and grammatically appropriate for the intended audience.
- Utilize dictionaries, specialized glossaries, encyclopedias, online resources, and reference books to ensure translation accuracy and precise terminology selection.
- Adhere to translation quality standards set by recognized bodies such as the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), the Australian National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), or the American Translators Association.
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations, professional conduct codes, ethical standards, and laws of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Prepare all correspondence, responses, circulars, meeting minutes, and related documents in accordance with the instructions of the immediate supervisor.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree: Master's or Bachelor's degree
- Specialization: Translation, English Language, Foreign Language, or an equivalent field
- Years of Relevant Experience: 1 year (for Bachelor's degree) / 3 years (for Master's degree)
