Canadian French Language Specialist

DescriptionWe are looking for a Canadian French Language Specialist to join our AI Team in Dublin, Ireland. The role is hybrid.

Responsibilities:

  • Annotation
  • Rating
  • Localization/Internationalization
  • Finding patterns
  • Evaluating existing data
  • Guidelines/style guides creation

Ideal candidates will be native in the target language and have good understanding or working experience with its regional varieties spoken in Canada, France, Switzerland and Belgium.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid and comprehensive understanding of the formal aspects of the target language (e.g. grammar, parts of speech, formal/casual/dialects)
  • Knowledge/awareness of linguistic terms and concepts
  • Evaluation, rating or data collection tasks
  • Localization tasks, including localizing across regional varieties of the target language
  • Creation of linguistic style guides
  • Interest in the current technology landscape: IT & computing, AI, machine learning, voice assistants, internet of things
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with confidence and little oversight
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Grasping technical concepts and learning new tools

Extra Points For:

  • Experience using NLP tools and concepts or interest in growing towards NLP tasks, e.g. creating grammar rules and formulating language templates
  • Experience in annotation work
  • Some knowledge of programming/coding (e.g. Python, R, regular expressions, HTML, C+, etc.)
  • Experience or skills around testing, data processing, database management
  • Formal linguistic education is a plus

Full training on tools and processes to be used will be provided. Candidates must be ready to relocate for this on-site position. Candidates could be students in the late stages of their studies.
