Hi, I am Theo Cuny, the person behind LocalizationJobs.com
I've been in the game industry since 2006. Over the years I've worked at Epic Games, Riot Games, EA, and Ubisoft. I'm now based in Quebec, and like a lot of people right now, between things. The Game & Localization markets are hard, so I'm channelling that energy into an independent project I care about.
It's a narrative Point & Click / puzzle game. I'm working with a small team: a technical designer on code and a UI/UX expert on interface. We're about to finish Chapter 1 as a vertical slice, and we've reached the point where we need to talk about illustrations.
We're looking for a 2D illustrator with some 3D basics. The register we're after is soft and macabre: the tenderness of a storybook applied to darker subject matter. Think somewhere between Strange Horticulture, Tim Burton, and The Suicide Shop.
The work includes:
Nice to have, not required:
If this resonates, especially if you're exploring indie collaboration right now, I'd love to hear from you.
To apply:
Send me your portfolio (ArtStation, Behance, personal website), a short introduction, and a brief summary of your professional experience. If you'd lean toward the freelance option, a rough price list or ballpark quote for the kinds of assets you create (character illustrations, environments, props, etc.) helps us plan production, though it's not essential.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
